SERVICENOW ARCHITECT

4th Source is currently seeking candidates for the position of ServiceNow Architect.

Summary:

Responsible for the design, architecture and leading the maintenance and enhancement of existing ServiceNow ITSM applications as well as implementation and development of new applications on the ServiceNow platform. Provide architectural and big picture oversight for ServiceNow development and implementation projects. Works with departmental representatives to understand business processes and requirements and provides solutions related to the ServiceNow platform. Recognized as advanced individual contributor. Subject matter expert in ServiceNow and ITIL. Conducts highly complex work critical to the organization. May assist less experienced peers.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain the current state of the ServiceNow platform architecture documentation and provide the architectural control.
  • Gather new requirements, analyze the impact of new requirements, and configure the new requirements on the
  • ServiceNow platform as per ITIL best practices.
  • Review requirements and develop technical design documents.
  • Create well-structured test plans and coordinate testing activities.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects.
  • Perform and facilitate regression testing of resolved defects.
  • Translate technical complexities to project stakeholders and make sure they understand the effects of the design decisions on the areas of ServiceNow Platform.
  • Lead ServiceNow upgrades planning and execution.
  • Manage and actively contribute to development efforts pertaining to modules of the ServiceNow platform using JavaScript, including support for newly developed modules or major releases.
  • Participate in the configuration of new applications or suites during planning, development, and rollout phases.  Contribute to the strategic development of new platform customizations, as needed, based on customer needs.
  • Develop and own ServiceNow coding standards.
  • Maintain an awareness and understanding of technological advances; provide continuous research and assessment of new resources and technology available for ServiceNow platform, e.g., literature review, participation in vendor supplied training and conferences, new and existing product evaluation.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned in order to meet the goals of the department and institution.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field required.
  • Eight (8) years of progressive experience in information systems development including at least three (3) years of experience in ServiceNow administration and/or development required.
  • Experience must also include Java or JavaScript development, design, development and delivery of ServiceNow solutions in Incident, Change, Problem, Asset, CMDB, Service Catalog, Service Portal, and workflow customizations, as well as experience with object oriented analysis and design.

Preferred Skills:

  • ServiceNow Administrator certification is required within 6 months after hiring.
  • ServiceNow Developer certification is preferred.
  • ITIL Foundation certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ITIL methodologies and processes.
  • Extensive Service Now Administration Experience.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with JavaScripting and AngularJS.
  • Experience with scripting in the ServiceNow platform using JavaScript or Jelly including: Business Rules, Client Scripts, Ul Actions, UI Pages.
  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, XML.
  • Fundamental understanding of the key technologies relevant to the ServiceNow integration solutions including SSO, SAML, SSL, Web Services, REST, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC.
  • SLA, Email Notification set up in ServiceNow.
  • Proficiency in Requirement Gathering.
  • Using ServiceNow for custom Application Development.
  • Hands-on design, development and deployment experience with the ServiceNow platform
  • Ongoing awareness of tools, techniques and best practices related to ServiceNow and IT Service Management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Ability to work well in a team oriented environment.
